Holston River Fishing Report for Saturday, 28 July 2012 10:26
Floated the lower Holston yesterday from the edge of the Knox County line back down to town. Despite oppressive heat and bright sun (and a few thunder boomers) the fish were all happy and active. Big fish were hanging on the backs of the carp or laid up in the shallows. There is no better sight fishing than the lower Holston for Small Mouth. Upper river by the Dam is purported to be fishing well for trout on steroids. Bring your fluorocarbon if you go and go on and get as they are set to turn on the spigots starting next week due to all the rain the upper drainage has received.
